“Pakistan is back in business” -H.E. Ambassador Jauhar Saleem
On the 22nd November 2016, the Honorary Consulate of Pakistan was honoured to be able to welcome H.E. Mr. Jauhar Saleem, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, who was on an official visit to christmassy Munich. The days were packed with meetings and discussions during which H.E. Saleem kept emphasizing that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Germany need to increased. He also stressed that German investment in Pakistan needs to inflate in order to transfer and substritute businesses between Bavaria and Pakistan.
Visiting the Hanns Seidel Foundation
On 23rd of November H.E. Jauhar Saleem visited the Hanns Seidel Foundation where he was warmly welcomed by Chairwoman, Professor Ursula Maennle, a Former Minister of the State of Bavaria and Former Chair of the EU Affairs Committee (CSU) of the State Parliament of Bavaria, Germany. Professor Maennle informed the Ambassador about foundation operations in Pakistan and she expressed her concerns regarding the registration of foundations in Pakistan. Ambassador Jauhar Saleem ensured the Chairperson that he will take care of that matter personally.
Open discussion about relation between Pakistan and Germany
After the meeting with the Representatives of the Hanns Seidel Foundation an open discussion with selected Students and Politicians was held.
The discussion canvassed the relationship between Pakistan and Germany where the Ambassador briefed about the current political and economical situation in Pakistan. Here the social, political and economical relations of the two countries were reviewed.
Meeting Munich’s Lord Mayor
Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter and H.E. the Ambassador agreed on exchanging delegations to strengthen bilateral ties. Afterwards Munich’s economical contribution to the free state of Bavaria and Germany in general was discussed.
Round Table Pakistan
On the special occasion of the Ambassador’s visit a Round Table was organized by the Unicredit bank and the Honorary Consulate of Pakistan for Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Here trading and investment opportunities in Pakistan were being discussed as tremendous business opportunities have been created by Chinese investment of more than 50 billion US-Dollars in the CPEC, the China – Pakistan Economic Corridor.
It was stated that due to CPEC project new business opportunities have been opened for investors and entrepreneurs from various sectors.
During the Round Table discussion Consul Dr. Poetis informed the attendees about the Special Economic Zone for German companies (SEZ) in Pakistan enabling Dr. Poetis‘ vision on “Made in Pakistan with German Engineering”
Trading and investing in the world’s sixth most populated country with more than 200 million inhabitants is becoming increasingly attractive and right now Pakistan economy is experiencing a “High time”.
